A 22 year tradition continues on Sunday, August 24th with Wells Fargo’s An Evening Under The Stars at Lincoln Park. The annual outdoor summer concert for the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra will also feature the Grand Junction Centennial Band and the ever popular Brats in the Park.
The Grand Junction Symphony Guild’s Brats in the Park begin selling at 5:00pm. This annual fundraiser will include bratwurst, sauerkraut, hot dogs, chips, soda and water all to benefit the numerous educational programs and events that the Guild supports.
Enstrom Candies, a supporter of Wells Fargo’s An Evening Under The Stars for the past 3 years, will also have their ice cream trailer at the park with a portion of the sales from that night supporting the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.
Attendees are encouraged to come early, bring their chairs and blankets and find a great spot in the grass.
The Grand Junction Centennial Band kicks off the evening at 6:30pm with The Star Spangled Banner and other great Americana tunes and marches. The Centennial band is under the direction of Gary Ambrosier and Debbie Wilson.
The Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra concludes the evening with other great patriotic tunes and some teasers of their upcoming season including Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker, a Salute to Ol’ Blue Eyes and Mozart’s famous Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) which will all be performed in December, January and March, respectively.
Season ticket holders of the Grand Junction Symphony will also have an opportunity to pick up their tickets at the concert and anyone interested in purchasing a season ticket package or single tickets to any concert will be able to do so that night.
A special thanks to Wells Fargo Bank for their continued support of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra and to Enstrom Candies for their generosity.
