2nd Annual Variety Show promises to be a great night of music and laughs in support of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra
It’s no joke! The 2nd Annual GJSO Variety Show is happening Wednesday, April 1st in the Recital Hall at Moss Performing Arts Center on the campus of Colorado Mesa University. The show begins at 7:00pm and brings together staff, board members and musicians of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra for an evening of great music, skits and general hilarity to raise funds for the GJSO. The only two stipulations for the evening are no classical music and each act must include a member of the organization.
Last year’s inaugural show opened with a nod to a classic Dick Van Dyke musical number and featured the GJSO administrative staff in ill-fitting marching band uniforms singing “I Am A Fine Musician” with members of the orchestra accompanying. While the show opener will remain the same, all the rest of the acts for this year will be brand new including folk tunes, original music, solo cello, a classic Disney song, skits from Victor Borge and Garrison Keillor and many more acts yet to be announced.
All funds raised support the mission of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra which is to engage and enrich the community through symphonic music. Each person performing in the variety show has donated of their time and talents.
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online at gjso.org, by calling 243-6787 or visiting the Grand Junction Symphony office at 414 Main Street. Tickets will also be available at the door beginning at 6:00pm.
It’s an evening you don’t want to miss! Wednesday, April 1st at 7:00pm. For real, it’s all happening on April Fools Day!
